Health Regulations

In order to maintain the health and safety of our children and staff, the following will apply.

School Nurse: Pavla Meckovska

Pavla is a certified nurse available for parents to consult and teachers. In case of emergencies Pavla is always present to assure the proper care of your children. She undergoes periodical trainings with the Canadian Medical Center to provide our staff with proper training.

Our Health Regulations

  1. Each child will be required to have on file a completed medical form, including a copy of your child's up-to-date immunization record.
  2. We ask that you not send your child to school if he or she exhibits any of the following symptoms, either in the morning or during the night before school:
    • fever - 37.8 degrees Celsius/100 degrees Fahrenheit orally; 38.3 degrees Celsius/101 Fahrenheit rectally (or higher)
    • severe coughing - child gets red or blue in the face, child makes high-pitched croupy or whooping sounds after the coughs
    • difficult or rapid breathing - especially in infants
    • yellowish skin or eyes
    • pinkeye - tears, redness of eyelid lining, followed by swelling and discharge of pus
    • unusual spots or rashes
    • sore throat or trouble swallowing
    • infected skin patches
    • crusty, bright yellow, dry, or gummy areas of skin - possibly accompanied by fever
    • unusually dark, tea-colored urine - especially with a fever
    • gray or white stool
    • headache and stiff neck
    • vomiting
    • diarrhea
    • severe itching of body or scalp or scratching of scalp
  3. If any of the above symptoms are present, or were present the night before school, or if your child appears cranky or less active than usual, cries more than usual, or just seems generally unwell at home, we kindly as that you keep your child home until your child has been symptom-free for 24 hours or has been cleared to return to school by his or her pediatrician.
